MTFC-Children Programme

The C Programme is for children aged 7-11 years. It is designed to help children develop skills in relationships, increase prosocial behaviours and get on well in school.

Foster carers with this age group are trained to establish a nurturing and trusting relationship, to encourage and help children learn new skills, to manage difficult behaviour and promote positive behaviour. Children receive coaching which identifies their strengths and builds on them so that they develop new skills.

When children leave MTFC-C and move to a permanent placement, the team works with this family to enable them to continue building on the skills the child has developed. They are also trained in behaviour contingency systems for middle childhood.

Pilot programmes are being set up in Barking and Dagenham, Blackburn with Darwen, Cambridgeshire, Cumbria, Dudley, Hackney, Oxfordshire, Solihull.
